GETTING STARTED IN THE TRADES

Are you interested in a career in the trades?

Women in Trades Careers in the trades include carpentry, plumbing, welding, auto mechanics, and other high-wage, high-skill blue-collar careers. These careers offer women insurance benefits, pensions, career advancement and challenging careers in addition to starting average wages of $12.00 an hour and the potential of making over $30.00 an hour!

Entering these careers does not have to be a mystery for women. Chicago Women in Trades' Information Session offers advice and support on succeeding in these careers and the entry routes into apprenticeship programs and employment opportunities. These sessions are the first step towards YOUR new career.

Sessions are open to all women and are available on:

  • The first Wednesday of the month at 10:30 AM
  • The second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 PM
  • The third Wednesday of the month at 10:30 AM
  • And, the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30 PM
